{%image_id=29258%}People ask me all the time what time of year is the best for fishing? Without a doubt April and October are the two best months of the year. October is my favorite just because the fishing pressure is less than Aprils spring madness. Both months are transition times when the water temps change into the magic seventies.{%image_id=29259%} Redfish fishing has been great all summer and in the last few weeks has been nothing short of phenomenal. On high water look for the schools up next to the oyster bars and on low water on the same flat out on the edges.{%image_id=29256%} This will be the first year in many that speckled trout will be open all year in our area of southwest florida. The fishery has made a great comeback with lots of bigger fish both in the slot and above it.{%image_id=29255%} The beaches off Anna Maria are already on fire with big schools of spanish mackerel and kingfish.
