Hi Folks, We have seen some good and some not so good fishing. Rain has played a big part in the fishing. Typical summer tips apply: fish early or late, fish deep cooler water and drink plenty of cool water! Now here's my report: INSHORE: Flounder and reds and a few trout are biting in the inlets, the ICW, and the creeks. Menhaden and mullet fished on carolina rigs are doing well, Deep holes are best producers. NEAR SHORE: Spanish mackerel are on again and off again. Best bite is on deep fishing with #1 planers. Remember to use 30+ feet of 25# leader. A few kings and tarpon are around in the near shore waters. Ladyfish are providing some acrobatic action. OFFSHORE: King mackerel are biting well between 10 and 40 miles. Live bait, cigar minnows, ballyhoo and drone spoons are producing fish. Mahi can be found in the outer areas. GULFSTREAM: Fishing is a little slow. Some mahi action and billfish are the major producers. CAPE FEAR RIVER: Nice flounder, redfish action and some trout are the better bites in the river. UPCOMING: Fall fishing is not too far away!!! Check out our photo page for the latest pics. Until Next Time Let's Go Fishing!!! Capt.
