Panama - Boca Chica

Boca Chica

Panama--Punta Burica to Isla Coiba All species fishing very good. Many blue marlin around Burica, just outside the reef and drop. Small tuna and bonito holding them there. Sails are in good numbers, but for some reason (probably they're FULL) they are a little more finicky than the marlin, who come in hot and don't stop until somebody blinks. Still very good numbers of dorado in the 25 - 60 lb. class, with the average running around 35 lbs. Splittail mullet under a skirt will take all of them. When tuna are sighted, jumping under the birds, put on a couple small feathers. We caught two 'football' class yellowfin the other day, followed by three skipjacks, then had a big mama blue hit that little feather and send it about 60ft. out of the water. Plastics working well too, so don't feel bad if you have no bait to dress them with. Keep a feather out the shotgun slot and use the bellies of any skipps or bonitos caught. We even use the dorado bellies and have great luck with them. Ladrones, Montuosa, The Bank, all fishing very good. Good Luck, Capn Bob
