Redfish and Trout show in St Helena sound

Beaufort

Had several trips the last couple of weeks in St Helena Sound area. The Coosaw River and the Combahee River have started to show some trout. It looks now like we will have a better trout year than predicted by DNR, as we have done fairly well on them with live shrimp and a popping cork combo. It should only get better as the water temps continue to fall. The Redfish bite has also been very consistent, with the larger Bull Reds in the deep holes on the rocks, and the school fish biting well on the flats. Grass edges with oyster shells have produced good results. I have also been picking up a flounder or two each trip. Our bite should continue to improve as we move into the heart of the mullet run.
