Spanish mackerel and kingfish made a good showing . Plenty of schools in 30 -40 feet were crashing on bait schools. The macks were big mostly in the 4 - 5 pound range and the kings were schoolers. I expect this action to continue right through December. Shark fishing was good in these same areas. They are also moving with the schools of mackerel. Atlantic sharpnose in the 3 foot range were a good fight on light tackle. Offshore reefs had some nice grouper and flounder. On the inshore scene there were redfish all over each bay and inlet. Higher tides had them pushed closer to the mangroves and oyster bars. All areas from Miguel bay to Sarasota Bay had some good schools. Most were in the 24 inch range. The monster schools of bull reds should invade our waters at any time. We needed a bit more persistence with trout. There are plenty of small trout all over the grass with an occasional 20 inches one mixed in . Their size will get bigger as the water cools. Snook were also mixed in the catch and must be released.
