Canyon Lake: Water: clear; 84 degrees; 909.31': Largemouth are fair to good in 10'-20' along ledges of mainlake bluffs on drop shot rigs, watermelon-red Whacky Sticks on jigheads or Texas rigged 6" purple Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs and white spinner- baits fished in standing timber in 4'-8'. Upriver JDC Skip-N-Pop topwaters, wacky rigged watermelon-red Whacky Sticks and Texas rigged blue flake worms produce tight to laydowns . Smallmouth are fair early along leges and over rockpiles in 15'- 28' using Smokin' Green" Devil's Tongues on drop shots, smoke JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, and 3/16 oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching drop shot worms. Stripers are small but fair at first light schooling in the lower end jigging blade baits and trolling Gizz 4 or deep running Shad Rap crankbaits over and around humps. White Bass are slow and small on mainlake points at daylight. Crappie are fair up river on minnows and crappie jigs. Curb's buzzbaits and, skipping wacky rigged green pumpkin Whacky Sticks. Stripers are good at night with limits to 26" on Creme Lure's Spoiler Shads. White Bass good at night on Little Fishies. Crappie are good with limits of fish to 16 inche from brush piles in 12'-15' on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
