Report for Long Island Sound

Norwalk Islands

Sallie Briggs of Darien returned for her third trip with us this year, bringing along her brother, Tim, visiting from North Carolina. It was a great day, chasing bluefish on the surface, and catching about a dozen—as well as a striped bass caught at Billy’s Rock at the beginning of the day. Ed Yochowitz of Norwalk and his daughter, Melissa, had a wonderful morning catching striped bass off of Frost Point. They reeled in seven stripers up to 30”. The action is great—nonstop with bluefish, and there are lots of nice-sized stripers at several local hot spots. The bait is still in residence, so fishing should be exciting for several weeks.
