Wind, wind and more wind this past week courtesy of hurricane Sandy. Blustery conditions to say the least. {%image_id=29638%} Monday thru Thursday the wind came more out of the northeast. When the wind comes from the east off Anna Maria I can fish the lee of the island on the beaches and nearshore reefs. This is great because big spanish mackerel and kingfish are following the bait schools that are headed south for the winter. {%image_id=29640%}{%image_id=29639%}{%image_id=29257%} By Friday the wind shifted more northwest and west. Fishing the beach is out of the question so we fished inshore on the flats behind the barrier islands. Moving from spot to spot can be a chore but it is worth it when you find the fish. Snook, Reds, Trout and Flounder are feeding well. Good Fishing! Capt. Rick Gross
