Santee warm up

Santee

Here at Santee Cooper we have received a bunch of new water. We have suffered from a serious drought all year and now we have 4 feet of new water. This caused the water temps to rise from in the high 40's to over 60 degrees. With changing PH levels, and rising water temps the fish have made a lateral move. They went in the lakes from deep 40+-foot water under bait balls, to 15-20 foot on top of the hills and on the sides of the lakes. We really have to use our electronics to locate the fish and see what depth water they are in and adjust. Once you find the right depth water, we are catching excellent quality of fish. We are seeing fish ranging from 20-40+ lbs with kickers higher in weight. Largest fish the last 5 days has been 49 lb blue catfish.
