Spring fishing is finally here and Summer fishing is right around the corner. I just wanted to share with everyone what has been going at St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and Jekyll Island and what we are expecting to happen in the coming weeks. I hope that everyone had a great Winter and that you are just as excited about the warm weather as I am. Recently we have been doing most of our fishing at the nearshore reefs off of St. Simons and Jekyll Island. We have caught tons of Summer Trout, Sea Bass, and Redfish with some Spanish Mackerel in the mix as well. Inshore started out slow but in the last week it has really improved with some nice Trout being brought in. I'm really optimistic about what this Summer will hold for the inshore fish. Last summer was spectacular even after a brutally cold Winter so I am extremely excited to see what happens this year after the nice temps. The Tripletail fishing has been excellent right in front of Jekyll Island. We have seen plenty of fish and they have been more than willing to eat. If you have ever fished for Tripletail you know how picky they can be at time. I'm hoping that someone comes soon that is up to the challenge of catching one on fly! Offshore fishing has also been good, and it's getting even better. We have been able to get some REALLY nice Cobia and Amberjack along with the usual customers of Vermillion Snapper, Sea Bass, Triggerfish, Grouper, and the other bottom dwellers.
