Sharks on the flats in Sarasota

Sarasota

Action was good for clients this week. The only real issue was a lack of wind, which can make fishing the deep flats a bit tricky. Jigs produced a lot of fish, including speckled trout to 22", bluefish, ladyfish, silver trout, jacks, and sail cats.  The flats near the passes were best. Clients also hooked a few sharks, so I rigged up a rod and drifted chunks of cut ladyfish out behind the boat. Each morning we hooked several sharks to 30 pounds, which are great fun on light tackle! {%image_id=71338%}
