{%image_id=21474%}We fished an 7 hour evening trip to Smith Lake this weekend fishing from 4 p.m. untill 11 p.m. Water temps were 88 degrees. Air temps that evening 96 degrees. The spotted bass hit topwater lures like zara spooks, Sammies and pop-r's right at sundown. We also caught several 5-7 pound striped bass with the biggest about 10 pounds (See at pictures - NICE STRIPED BASS Caption.) All caught on topwater lures and suspending jerk baits. Throughout the night, we fished with small 4 inch black worms that produced about a dozen spotted bass, including one 4 pound largemouth bass. White 1/2 ounce single Colorado blade spinnerbaits also fooled a few bass while fishing points and rock bluffs with a dropping manner in about 10-25 feet deep water.
