Snook fishing has been on fire all week, with the best bite being early in the morning or late afternoon. Snook up to 40 inches are being caught in both the backcountry as well as along our beaches. Tarpon are still hanging around and being caught on cut baits during first light, however by mid morning that bite has turned off. There's lots of sharks out there, and cut mullet or ladyfish will certainly get there attention. When shark fishing use a few inches of wire attached to a 5/0 circle hook. If it's snapper your going after there's a lot of 8-13 inchers around oyster bars and mangrove shore lines that have deep troughs. For these feisty fish use small white baits or shrimp on circle hooks no larger than 1/0 or small jigs.
