Winter months in Chokoloskee can keep even the most salty of the salts off the water till it worms up. I personally love this time of year and always get out for the first bite. The Backcountry fishing, can at times, be world class fishing as well as on the Gulfside. The water gets so shallow, and clear you really need a shallow draft boat to really capitalize in the winter months. I personally site fish most all year, that's why I just love the winter months. The largest snook caught this month goes to Mr Jeff Davis,it was a great fight, and was released at the boat. I personally love the new slot, and believe, here in Chokoloskee most guides would agree their catching more over the slot this last 2 years. I personally am catch and release, but the guides I know would agree, it's hard to get one in the slot if you like to keep snook. The largest snook in my HPX goes to Nelson who brought to the boat a 47" Lineside. She was released back and swam off well,no gators or Bull sharks got to her out back.
