Bulls running hard in Port Royal Sound

{%image_id=40575%}We've had some fabulous trips this month catching big bull Redfish. These are the fish that stay in ocean, and come into the sound to spawn. They stay in the deep holes, and love rocks and live bottom. Catching them is not rocket science. Live menhaden will work the best, but can be hard to find this time of year. Plus I don't like wasting fishing time looking for them. I use frozen Menhaden that I've caught earlier. And the secret to keeping them in top shape is to freeze them in water. They come out in the same condition they went into the freezer. And the bulls love them. Slack tides are the best to fish, an hour or two either side. I love the outgoing the best, but you can catch them on the incoming also. Big bites, big pulls. Can't beat that.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rick Percy
