Redfish bite picking up in the Port Royal Sound area
Beaufort, south-carolina
Rick Percy
July 03, 2014
After a slow few weeks, the Redfish bite has started to pick up a bite the last 10 days or so. I have been catching them on high tide in the grass, using cut mullet on big circle hooks, just free lining the bait. Had several fish pushing the 30 inch mark. Also using mud minnows under popping corks on lower water near shell beds. Had several days with limits of slot Redfish. Also starting to see more trout in the system. Had a client throwing a 52MRMirrolure in 808 color, and had several nice ones on the early incoming tide. Should continue to improve as the summer moves on.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rick Percy
