Redfish bite still good in St Helena Sound
Beaufort, south-carolina
Rick Percy
March 03, 2012
Fished a couple of trips in St Helena Sound the last several weeks, and caught Redfish, a few trout, and even a flounder. Most were caught on mud minnows under popping corks. The water temps are on their way up, and the trout and Redfish bite should continue to improve. With water temps hovering around 63 degrees, the arrival of Cobia into the sounds may be earlier than normal. A water temp of 68 degrees is our magic number to start fishing Cobia, and we are not that far off. If the weather continues to show above normal temperatures, I would not be surprised to hear of Cobia coming to the boat by the 10th of April.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Rick Percy
