Striped Bass bite in Long Island Sound Over the past week the Housatonic River is starting to show a good bass bite from the Rt.8 Bridge in Shelton down river to Rt.15 Bridge. There has also been some good fishing in the lower river in the Milford area on the warmer days. With the warmer weather we have had this week it will get the bass moving even better. The water temps are still in the low forty's so try to fish the warmest part of the day and the slowest part of the tide, were you still have moving water. When the water is this cooled the bass tend to take an offering right in front of the face instead of chasing after it. Zoom super fluke in white will get the job done; just work them slow and on the bottom. If you are fishing from a small boat or Kayak, dress for the water temps not the air temps and put on a PFD even the strongest of men can't swim 50 yards in forty degree water. Best Capt.
