Tarpon and Redfish Replace Cobia in Port Royal Sound

Beaufort

As the Cobia run for the year is in its last stages, anglers attention has turned back to Redfish, and getting ready for our Tarpon to show in catchable numbers. Our Redfish trips over the last 3 weeks have been very consistent, with good bites coming on both the falling and incoming tide. Mud Minnows or Shrimp under popping corks continue to be reliable, along with Redfish Magic spinnerbaits tipped with Gulps. I will start Tarpon fishing next week as the bait is here in good numbers, and the water temps are right. The Spanish Mackerel are showing well on nearshore wrecks and sandbars.
