9-5-08 Fishing report by Captain Van Hubbard. Weather has been challenging but we have good fish if our timing works. I have been unable to match clients and weather recently. Family priorities have kept me busy some of the time. Our waterways are quieter than they have been for years. We do have plenty of fish it's just matching the day you have with fair weather. I keep in touch with other captains and the baitfish are growing up and ready for us to put em to work catching fish for us. Redfish are looking better all the time. Snook are in season and ready to cooperate. Trout are around and usually cooperative. All three of our inshore fish even mix up and frequently show up in the same spots now. It's time to plan a trip and we can reschedule if Mother Nature blows our game plan. Just don't miss our fishing the next couple of months because it is some of the best. Our "mack attack" is due next month and you want to reserve your dates or miss out. Spanish and king mackerel should be great this season with all the baitfish we have had. Pompano will move back thru soon. Cobia and sharks are due too plus tarpon can make our day any time. With hunting season and football going strong this is the quiet time on Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande waters. Let's Go fishin' soon. Captain Van Hubbard. www.captvan or .
