Week Ending December 7, 2003 Hi Folks, For those of you who missed the arrival, winter is here. Not too bad, but certainly chilly. Water temps are in the mid 50's inshore and that is perfect for trout, drum, tautog and more. Now here's my report. Week Ending December 7, 2003: Inshore: We are having good catches of trout with some black drum and tautog mixed in with the trout. Best bait is live shrimp, but mirrolures and grubs will work on the trout too...the drum and tautog will demand real food. Nearshore: Gray trout are still biting at the inshore reefs. False albacore are around and some nice sea bass are biting too. Offshore: The king mackerel bite has moved out to Frying Pan Tower, but plenty are there to be caught. Gulfstream: Wahoo is the main attraction. Some tuna, yellowfin and blackfin, are around as well. In addition to the Bass and Saltwater Fishing Expos, Jan, 9-11 in Raleigh; and Jan 16-18 in Greensboro, I will also be doing a seminar at the Crocker's Marine Fishing School, Feb 14. The school runs from 8:30 AM until approximately 3:00PM. This fishing school is free and lunch is provided. Contact me or Crocker's Marine (910-256-3661) for more details. Also, don't miss the Down East Hands On Fishing School put on by Bug-Em-Bait, Feb. 21-22. I'll be doing multiple seminars there and you can contact Capt. Lloyd Eastlack for details (910-452-9955 or 1-800-242-2493). Check out the pic of the week: www.rodmancharters.com Let's Go Fishing! Capt. Rick Bennett Rod-Man Charters 910-799-6120
