Wrightsville Beach to Cape Fear River

Wrightsville Beach

Period Ending November 5, 2004 Report for the Period Ending November 5, 2004: Hi Folks, The temperatures dropped last night and the fish are chomping this morning. Trout, blues, albacore and more are biting. With the good chill coming this week it should bring fall fishing to a frenzy. And maybe the pinfish will disappear. Inshore: We have already had a good start to the fall trout bite and with temps cooling the water look for next week to be fantastic for trout. Flounder are still around as they head out the inlets on their journey to the continental shelf. Red and black drum are biting as well. Near Shore: Plenty of bluefish action happening at the inlets and false albacore are biting from the beach out 7 miles. Gray trout are doing well at the inshore reefs. Offshore: King mackerel are biting from the beach out to 30 miles, with some of the best action at the 5-10 mile range. Cigar minnows are working best. Gulfstream: Wahoo!!! and that's the big story. Plenty of wahoo and tuna with a few mahi mixed in to make a stream trip worthwhile. Interest in my upcoming fishing school is exciting. Details are at http://www.rodmancharters.com/first_annual_rod.htm. Don't miss this week's pic of the week: http://www.rodmancharters.com/report.htm Lot's of great fishing ahead, several good dates available... Let's Go Fishing!!! Capt.
