Rod-Man Charters Fishing Repot March 28, 2003 Rod-Man Fishing Report March 28, 2006; Hi Folks, Well just when we were right on target for an early spring we get kicked in the teeth with our first really winter like weather. But, we have survived it and things are warming back up and with the predicted temperatures, look for fishing to turn right on and do it now. We have gotten in a few trips the past few day and have been rewarded with some tautog, ring tails and sea bass. Inshore: With the water cooling due to cold nights, fishing has slowed a bit inshore. A few reds and trout can be found, but look for the action to pick up nicely as the water warms this week. Near Shore: Bottom fishing has been good near the Liberty Ship. No bonito or blues yet, but any day it could bust loose. Offshore: Reports are coming in that kings are 20-25 miles out and good grouper fishing is happening in the same range. Gulfstream: When boats can get out, they are catching yellowfin, blackfin, and wahoo. The first blue marlin of the year was reported last week.
